Keyboard input can be done in several languages. Russian users are more accustomed to using a keyboard with Cyrillic and Latin letters. Switching from one language to another occurs at the user's command or automatically. There are several ways to switch the keyboard to English.
Instructions
Step 1
The icon for the selected language appears in the notification area of the taskbar. It looks like a square with the letters EN or RU, which corresponds to English (English) and Russian (Russian) languages, respectively. Also, instead of letters, Russian and American flags can be depicted. If you do not see this icon, expand the notification area by clicking on the arrow on the left side of the notification area.
Step 2
If there is still no icon, customize its display. To do this, right-click anywhere in the "Taskbar", select the "Toolbars" item in the drop-down menu, set the marker in the "Language bar" line in the submenu. Left-click on the language icon and select EN (English / American). This is one way to switch the keyboard to English.
Step 3
To switch to English using your keyboard, press alt="Image" and Shift or Ctrl and Shift. The icon on the "Language bar" in the notification area of the "Taskbar" will change its appearance. To set up a keyboard shortcut with which you can switch to and from English, open the Control Panel from the Start menu. Under the Date, Time, Regional and Language Options category, select the Regional and Language Options icon.
Step 4
In the dialog box that opens, go to the "Languages" tab and click on the "Details" button in the "Languages and text input services" section - an additional dialog box will open. Go to the "Options" tab and click on the "Keyboard Options" button in the "Settings" section. In the new dialog box, select in the section "Keyboard shortcuts for input languages" the line "Switch between input languages" and click on the button "Change keyboard shortcuts". Set the desired keyboard shortcut and apply the new settings.
Step 5
Automatic switching of the keyboard to English and vice versa occurs if the corresponding utility is installed. For example, Punto Swither. When entering text, the utility recognizes letters and determines which language the given sequence of letters is more typical for. It is not included in the Windows package, so install it from the Internet.
