The Windows operating system has a "safety mechanism" that prevents accidental deletion of data. When you delete a document, movie or any other file, it is placed in a special folder "Trash". At the same time, until the trash is emptied, it is possible to fully recover deleted information. But this technology also has disadvantages. The first is that deleted files continue to take up disk space. The second drawback is reduced security, for example, in corporate networks. But files can be deleted an order of magnitude faster.

Step 1
First, determine which files you want to delete. If there is only one such file, select it and press the Shift + Del key combination. A message will appear stating that the file will be deleted permanently, press the "OK" button. If there are several files, hold down the Ctrl key and without releasing it, mark the files to be deleted one by one. When they are all selected, press Shift + Del. The procedure takes a few seconds, and from that moment on, it is possible to recover deleted files only with the help of special programs and by no means always.
Step 2
Without the participation of the basket, you can delete data using file managers, for example, Total Commander. But these programs need to be searched for and installed additionally.
Step 3
To make the recovery of files as difficult as possible, even with special programs, after deletion, defragment the data on the hard disk. You can also use specialized utilities to permanently delete data.
