Step 1

To configure the clock in the Windows operating system, the "Date and Time" component is used, but to disable them, you must open another component - "Taskbar and Start Menu". This can be done in several ways, the choice depends only on the user's preferences.

Step 2

Option one: from the Start menu, open the Control Panel. Click on the "Taskbar and Start Menu" icon in the "Appearance and Themes" category with the left mouse button, or right-click on it and select "Open" from the drop-down menu.

If the "Control Panel" has a classic look, select the desired icon right away. Switching from the classic view to the category view is carried out using the corresponding link-line located in the left part of the window on the typical tasks pane.

Step 4

Option two: right-click on the "Taskbar" and select "Properties" from the drop-down menu. If you don't see the Taskbar, move your mouse cursor to the bottom edge of the screen and wait for it to pop up, or press the Windows key on your keyboard.

Step 5

A new Taskbar and Start Menu Properties dialog box opens. Go to the "Taskbar" tab in it. The tab represents fields with parameters and thumbnails available for customization (a reduced image of how the "Taskbar" will look with certain settings).

Step 6

In the "Notification area" group at the bottom of the window, remove the selected marker from the "Display clock" field. Click the "Apply" button for the new settings to take effect, then close the properties window by clicking the OK button or the [x] icon in the upper right corner of the window.

Step 7

The clock will be disabled and, accordingly, will no longer be displayed on the "Taskbar". To return the clock to its original place, repeat all the steps described above and set the marker in the "Display clock" field. Apply new settings, close the window.
