An mds file is an image created on the basis of a CD or DVD disc using a special program for copying a disc to another medium. The most convenient option is to create an image, since almost all licensed films do not have the usual avi recordings.

- Program for working with disks Daemon Tools Lite, Alkohol 120%, UltraISO or similar
- Any data CD or DVD
Instructions
Step 1
Download Daemon Tools Lite from the official site by following the link daemon-tools.cc/rus/products/dtLite.
Step 2
After downloading, install the distribution. You don't need to configure anything, just click Next, accept the license agreement and select a free license. Remove the markers opposite "Install Yandex. Bar", "Make Yandex home page", "Set Yandex as default search". The rest of the markers can be left. After choosing the installation location, uncheck the "Send anonymous usage statistics" option and agree to restart your computer.
Step 3
After restarting your computer, you will see the virtual drives update window. In the lower right corner near the clock, a round icon with a lightning bolt will appear. Click on it with the right mouse button and select the "Settings" item. In the window that appears, select the "General settings" line and check the "Automatic mount" line so that after the reboot the image you need will be mounted automatically. Click the "Mark" button and then close the program window.
Step 4
Insert the data disc into the drive, then right-click on the program icon again and select "Create Image". In the window that appears, select the drive into which the disc is inserted and from which you want to make an image. Click on the "Update" button. Put a marker in the line "Delete image on error". In the "Output image file" field, select where you want to save the finished image. In the window that appears, specify the location and name of the image. In the Save as type box, specify Image Description Files (*.mds) and click Save. Now press "Start" and after 10-15 you will receive a ready-made disk image in mds format.
Step 5
Download and install a trial version of UltraISO or purchase a license.
Step 6
Run the program, select "Tools" in the program menu and click on "Create CD image …" in the drop-down list.
Step 7
In the window that appears, select the drive containing the data disc. Specify the folder to save the finished image. Below, put a marker in front of the line "Alcohol (.mdf /.mds)" and click "Do". In a few minutes, the image of the disk you need will be ready.
