One of the components of the Windows OS is the "Security Center". He monitors changes in the system and notifies about those that, in his opinion, reduce the level of computer security. The user may be bothered by regular screams of alarm, and there is a desire to turn off this center.
Instructions
Step 1
If you are running Windows XP, in the Control Panel, double-click the Security Center icon. On the left side of the screen, in the "Resources" section, click on the link "Change the way you are notified …" and uncheck the boxes for those tasks that you are not interested in. Click OK to confirm your decision.
Step 2
If your computer is running Windows 7, in the "Control Panel" go to the link "System and Security". In a new window, open the link "Support Center" and on the left side of the screen select "Configure Support Center". In the "Disable or enable messages" window, clear the flags next to unnecessary tasks.
Step 3
It is possible to disable Center alerts using the Registry Editor. Expand the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftSecurity Center] folder and locate the FirewallDisableNotify, UpdatesDisableNotify and AntiVirusDisableNotify keys on the right side of the screen.
Step 4
Make their value equal to 1. To do this, right-click on the parameter and select the "Change" option. Enter 1 in the "Value" field and confirm the change by clicking OK. You can do it differently. Mark the parameter with the cursor and in the "Edit" menu click the "Edit" option. Enter 1 in the Value field and click OK to confirm.
Step 5
You can edit the registry in Notepad or any other text editor. Run the program and enter the code: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00; Disable Anti-virus Notifications [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftSecurity Center] "AntiVirusDisableNotify" = dword: 00000001
Step 6
Write the code for each of the keys, separating the entries with blank lines. Save the text as a.reg file and click OK. To do this, in the "File" menu, click the "Save As …" command. Then click on the icon of the saved file, after which the registry will be changed.
