Torrents are files with the corresponding extension, which contain information about data downloaded from the Internet. Thanks to a special algorithm for remote distribution of metadata by some users, others are able to quickly download the transmitted information to their computer.

Step 1
To get the data, information about which is contained in the downloaded torrent file, you need to open it in a special program, for example Utorrent, which is freely available on the Internet. Run the application and use the "Add torrent" function to specify the path to the required file. Also, usually torrent files are automatically opened in the corresponding program immediately after they are downloaded.
Step 2
Make sure to start downloading data from the torrent file. If the download percentage is consistently zero, there may be no users uploading data at the moment. Wait for them to appear. Also, the file may display a missing data error message. In this case, right-click on it and select the "overwrite" command, after which the download will start over.
Step 3
In the "Options" menu, set the appropriate Internet connection settings. Usually, the default settings are sufficient to successfully download files, but in some cases the torrent download may be stalled due to the need for additional steps. For example, if you use a specific proxy server and other parameters provided by your ISP to connect to the network, specify them.
Step 4
Choose safe and affordable torrent download sites. If you download data from overseas sites, file downloads may not always be successful due to differences in internet connection and uploading method. Also, some sites provide for blocking users who, after downloading torrents, immediately leave the distribution. In this and some other cases, the download of torrent data may not start even if the network settings are correct.
Step 5
Make sure that the antivirus installed on the system is not blocking the program for downloading torrents. If so, add it to the list of excluded programs to start the download.
