Characters that are missing on the keyboard can be inserted into the text using the alt="Image" button and a certain combination of numbers or by typing a 6-10 digit code. There are a lot of these codes, it's impossible to remember everything, and why keep them in your head, the text editor has a function "insert characters that are not on the keyboard."

To insert the desired symbol in the "Word", use this function, for this click on the "insert" icon, a panel will open, on which in the right corner you will find the "Symbols" window. Click on it, in the drop-down window there will be 20 characters, if among them there is no needed one, click "other characters", a window with a large number of special characters and signs will open:

- short and long dashes;

- paragraph;

- sign "copyright";

- trademark;

- degree sign;

- root sign;

- degree sign and much more.

Select the one you need and click the "insert" button. The selected sign will be fixed in a small drop-down window and you will no longer need to search for it during subsequent use. Click on the "symbols" icon - the first positions will be the signs that you used.

Some characters can be replaced with letters similar to them. Instead of the multiplication sign, you can put the letter "x" or the symbol *. The division sign ÷ can be replaced with a colon, for example, 50: 2 = 25. To insert hieroglyphs into the text, use the Verdana font.

There are fonts "Windings", Symbol, Webdings, which have unusual interesting signs "scissors", "telephone", "bell", "palm" and others. Unfortunately, these non-standard characters are displayed only in the Internet Explorer browser, in other browsers they are replaced with a regular font.

Also in worde it is possible to configure the "autocorrect" function. Open the symbol table, select the desired character, click on the "autocorrect" inscription, insert into the "replace" window any letters or symbols that will be replaced with the selected character in the text. For example, for the symbol ₽, the substitution can be the syllable rub, or better, a combination of Latin letters. As soon as you write this syllable, it will automatically be replaced by a sign.

If for some reason it is impossible to use the symbol table, you can put a sign in the "Word" using the standard settings of the operating system, in particular the symbol table. Click on the "start" button, on the control panel, select and open the table, select the desired symbol, copy it and paste it into a text document.
