Almost any person using office equipment, at least once in his life, has come across the fact that at the most inopportune moment the printer suddenly stops printing. Typically, this is because a cartridge is out of ink. Now it's not a problem to buy a new cartridge for any printer model. But there is another solution - to refill the cartridge yourself, while saving a certain amount of money. This will take a little patience and neatness.

Necessary

  • - flat and Phillips screwdrivers,
  • - toner,
  • - funnel for toner,
  • - vacuum cleaner for toner
  • - syringe

Instructions

Step 1

Refueling a laser printer

Spread out newspaper or an unnecessary rag to avoid staining your countertop. Remove the cartridge from the printer. Place the cartridge in front of you and unscrew the bolts at its base. Carefully remove the top cover of the cartridge. Turn the lid over and carefully shake out all waste from the hopper. Vacuum the hopper and lid with a special vacuum cleaner. Unscrew the two screws on the left side of the cartridge and remove the side cover. Remove the plug under the cover. Gently shake out the remaining toner and vacuum. Add new toner and reassemble in reverse order.

Step 2

Some models of laser printers have special fuses or chips that prevent them from refueling.

If a chip is installed in your printer model, then after refilling the cartridge it will be necessary to reflash or replace it. Without this, your printer will not work.

If a fuse is installed in your printer model, then after refilling the cartridge, you must replace it with a new one with a rating of up to 100mA. Also, the copy counter values can be reset from the machine's service menu.

Step 3

Refueling an inkjet printer

Lift the cartridge out of the printer and peel off the plastic tape. If the plastic film is damaged, carefully seal it with electrical tape or tape. Find the refueling hole and mark it with colored toothpicks so you don't make mistakes when refueling. Fill the syringe with ink. It should be remembered that when refueling a black cartridge, you will need 15 milliliters of ink, and when refueling a color cartridge, 5 milliliters. Gently insert the needle of the syringe into the filling port of the cartridge and slowly pour in the ink. In this case, it is necessary to ensure that the cartridge is not overfilled. Attach the plastic wrap in place. Make sure the hole is tightly closed, otherwise the cartridge may leak. Insert the cartridge into the printer.
