Not all information on the hard drive of a personal computer is public property, that is, all users of this device. Therefore, some PC users prefer to block folders containing personal information.

Instructions
Step 1
Install the WinRar archiver on your personal computer. Then click on the folder containing confidential information with the right mouse button and select "Add to archive".

As soon as the archiver window opens, go to the "Advanced" tab. Following this, click on the "Set Password" button.

In the dialog box that appears, enter the password to lock the folder, and then enter the same password again (this is necessary to confirm that the password was entered correctly). Then click OK: the password is set. Now it remains to rename the folder so that you know exactly what is hidden in it.
Step 4
Make sure the folder is indeed locked. To do this, try to open the archive. If this does not work and the system asks for a password, then the operation was successful: now no outsider will be able to use your confidential information.
Step 5
To block access to a folder, you can use special programs, including Zserver Suite, Folder Guard, Locker and others. The principle of operation of these software is the same: the software is able not only to block access to folders and files, but also to hide them from prying eyes, and no one can delete these documents without your knowledge.
Step 6
First, install a special program on your hard disk and run it. In the dialog box that appears, click the New button, and then create a locked folder. Following this, the program will ask you to enter a password, folder name and path: click Create and enter all the data.
