Step 1
Total Commander is a convenient file manager with great capabilities. It makes it easy to work with documents, folders and files. It is easy to navigate in the program, the user-friendly interface contributes to convenient work. At startup, a window will appear, consisting of two parts, in each of them you need to select the desired file. If you click on the name of the disk in the upper part of the window, the entire list of files that are on it will open.

To copy, move, delete and other actions, a few mouse movements are enough. To move, just open the folder with the file on one side and left-click to drag the file to the folder open on the other side of the window. You can use the key on the bottom panel to copy.

Selecting multiple files is easy too. To do this, you need to hold down the Shift key and click on the names of the first and last files. If the files are not located next to each other, you need to click on each of them while holding down the Ctrl key.

Renaming files is easy - you need to left-click and click on the "rename" button on the panel, after which you can change the extension and name of the files.

In the program, you can quickly and without opening view files, as well as delete them. To view the file, just press F3, and to delete - F8.

The program has a variety of search options for folders and files. To immediately get into the disk, you just need to press the button of the desired disk in the top panel. To move higher, you need to press the Enter button. Also, working with this program, you can sort folders by various parameters, such as size, name, date.

If you have never worked with the program, you should not immediately change the settings, except for the basic ones. So, you can, for example, change the function of the buttons to make your work as usual as in Windows. Also, using the settings, you can change the interface language, change the contents of windows, change the types of disks and partitions, arrange windows, call other programs without returning to the desktop. The settings menu is on the left side of the window.

The functionality of Total Commander can be extended using special plugins. These are archiving plugins that are used to unpack certain kinds of files, internal viewer plugins, file system plugins, information plugins, and quick search plugins.
