If the monitor is set to a very low resolution, it will be rather inconvenient to work at the computer. Each screen has its own optimal parameters, and you can easily replace the initial settings with one of the options offered by the system.

Instructions

Step 1

The screen (or desktop) resolution depends on the capabilities of the monitor itself and your video card. Each element has its own maximum and minimum value. For example, a resolution of 800x600 pixels will be set by default by the Windows operating system on first startup. It is also possible that this value will be the maximum for your monitor.

Step 2

When you start installing software and drivers for a video card, the minimum resolution will most likely be 800x600 pixels, and the maximum will be calculated depending on what the video card or monitor can support.

If they support different resolution ranges, the best one will be automatically selected. Thus, you will have access to the range at which the image on the monitor will be shown in excellent quality.

When setting the maximum resolution, keep in mind that all icons displayed on the monitor screen will become clearer, but at the same time will change in size. The higher the resolution, the smaller they will be.

Step 3

To view and change the resolution on your computer yourself, on a desktop free of text and icons, right-click. In the drop-down menu select "Property" (this button is at the very bottom). After that, you will have access to a new window called "Properties: Display". Find the "Options" tab and left-click on it. At the bottom and slightly to the left, you will see a small table called "Screen Resolution". There will be a slider in it. Moving it to the left will decrease the resolution, and to the right will increase it.

Step 4

After setting the optimal resolution for you, click the "Apply" button. For 15 seconds, you can see what resolution your monitor will have, and if it suits you, click OK. Perform the last steps several times to choose the best option from several suggested by the system.
