Shrinking the screen of a game can reduce the load on the computer's processor while keeping the image sharp. There are several ways to accomplish this task.

Step 1
Use windowed game mode. To do this, use the keyboard shortcut alt="Image" and Tab. Also try changing the settings of the game itself. Most modern games support windowed play mode. Another way to switch to the desired mode is to use console commands.

Create a new shortcut for the game and open its context menu by clicking the right mouse button. Specify Properties and type -windowed on the Object line at the end of the file address. This action will create a parameter that launches the game in windowed mode.

Reduce the size of the game window itself by dragging its border to the desired size. This method may not work in applications that do not support this feature.

Try changing your screen resolution. To do this, start the game and call its main menu. Select the "Settings" item and select the "Video Settings" link. Find the "Game Resolution" section and make the necessary changes. Confirm the saving of the changes made by clicking the "Apply" button and restart the game.

Take advantage of the ability to change the parameters of the computer itself. To do this, call the desktop context menu by clicking the right mouse button and select the "Properties" item. Expand the HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftware branch game_name_game_nameSettings and find the settings named ScreenHeight and ScreenWidth. Expand the required key by double-clicking the mouse and apply the checkbox in the "Decimal" line for convenient display of values. Make the changes you want and save.
