The second category is free software. Users not only have the right to use such software, but also to modify it. It is in the public domain and open source. At the same time, a number of restrictions on modification and commercial use can be specially spelled out in the license agreement. These programs are commonly referred to as Free and Open Source Software (FOSS).

The next group is shareware. They are usually free to download and install, but if you want to continue using them, you have to pay. Usually the trial period is one month, or thirty days. Sometimes the demo version also has limited functionality, and the full range of options is available to the user after payment. The fee may be required as a prerequisite, or at the discretion of the user. For example, he may be shown a message prompting him to transfer funds to the developer's account if the program turned out to be useful.
