Internet radio is a good alternative to shortwave radio broadcasting in a city where there is a lot of interference. There are tens of thousands of radio stations from all over the world on the Internet, and each of them can be heard with a quality comparable to FM. If you have a computer with Internet access and a sound card, you will not need to purchase additional equipment to listen to them.
Instructions
Step 1
If not already done, prepare your computer to receive Internet radio stations. Connect it to the Internet in any way by choosing an unlimited tariff plan, or switch to such a tariff if you have previously used a limit one. Install a sound card in the car, connect speakers or headphones to it.
Step 2
Make sure the operating system installed on your computer is compatible with Flash Player. Download and install the latest version of this player.
Step 3
Launch any browser on your computer and go to the following site:
Step 4
Select the genre you want from the list on the left side of the page.
Step 5
If the genre you have chosen is divided into subcategories, select the one you need.
Step 6
A list of stations matching your requirements will be loaded. However, only the first ten stations found will be present in it. To load ten more, find the "Show more" button at the end of the list and click on it. Each press of this key will supplement it with ten more stations that match your criteria.
Step 7
To start listening to a station, click on the round button with the "Play" icon (triangle pointing to the right) located to the left of its name. A virtual player appears at the bottom of the page, and the audio stream starts playing at the same time. This way you can only listen to MP3 stations. If the broadcast format is AAC, you will have to install additional software.
Step 8
To start listening to another station, simply click on the corresponding "Play" button. The previous station will automatically stop playing. You can completely stop listening by closing the browser tab. You can temporarily turn off the sound without closing the tab by switching the virtual player to pause mode.
