When installing a new sound card, you need to select the correct drivers. If this is not done, the new audio equipment may not work correctly or not work at all.
Necessary
Sam Drivers
Instructions
Step 1
Usually, a disc containing the necessary software is supplied with sound cards. Install the programs stored on this disk. Restart your computer and adjust the sound card settings.
Step 2
If there is no such disk, then launch your Internet browser and go to the website of the manufacturer of this sound card model. Download from there a program that allows you to configure the parameters of this device. Typically, the files required for the device to function properly are installed with the software.
Step 3
In a situation where you could not choose the appropriate program yourself, download the Sam Drivers utility. Run DPS-drv.exe. Wait for the process of analyzing the connected equipment to complete.
Step 4
Click the Drivers tab. Select those sets of files that are associated with your sound card. Now examine the contents of the additional menu. Check the boxes next to the following items: "Expert mode", "driver installation", "silent installation", "CPU temperature" and "store logs".
Step 5
Now click the Install button. Wait for the running process to finish. Confirm the installation of the unfinished file bundles. Restart your computer to apply the new sound card settings.
Step 6
Now run Sam Drivers again. Make sure the utility does not prompt you to update your audio adapter software. Open the "Device Manager" item. Find the name of your sound card. Check that there is no exclamation mark next to this equipment.
Step 7
Open the program designed to configure the sound card. Fine-tune the operating parameters of this equipment. Usually you need to specify the purpose of the ports to which the speakers and microphone are connected. Save the settings.
