Many devices running the Android operating system are capable of connecting to wireless networks. To ensure this function, it is necessary to correctly configure the parameters of the connection with the access points.
Instructions
Step 1
Turn on your smartphone or tablet and wait for the Android operating system to load. Check the settings of the wireless equipment to which you want to connect. Remember the hotspot name and password.
Step 2
Open the main menu of the mobile device and go to the "Settings" submenu. Select "Wireless & networks". Open Wi-Fi network settings.
Step 3
Check the box next to the item of the same name to activate the wireless adapter. Wait for this device to start. After a few seconds, a list of detected wireless networks will appear.
Step 4
Select the access point you need based on the names. Wait for the password entry window to start. Follow this procedure and click the Connect button. If your mobile computer was unable to connect to the network, click the "Advanced Features" button.
Step 5
Make sure Static IP is not active. If you need to use a permanent network address, check the box next to the specified item.
Step 6
Fill out the form provided. Be sure to check the correctness of the addresses entered in the "Gateway" and DNS fields. Save the settings and try connecting to the wireless network again.
Step 7
Be sure to check the parameters of the access point and compare them with the requirements of the mobile device. Your tablet may only work with networks that are protected by WEP, not WPA.
Step 8
It is important to understand that Android devices generally do not work with wireless notebook adapters. Use additional programs to establish a computer-to-computer connection. In this situation, all the necessary manipulations must be carried out with a laptop, and not with a tablet computer.
