More often, to change the input language, press the keyboard shortcut assigned to this operation (usually left alt="Image" + SHIFT). The operating system with the default settings displays an icon indicating the current input language in the notification area of the taskbar (in the "tray") - it is also used to change the keyboard layout quite often.
Instructions
Step 1
Left-click the pointer icon for the current input language in the notification area and select the language you want from the pop-up context menu. This is how the keyboard layout should be changed using the taskbar in its simplest form. If there is no language indicator in the tray, then go to the second step.
Step 2
Right-click an empty space on the taskbar to open the context menu. In Windows 7, open the Panels section in the menu, and in Windows XP, expand the Toolbars section. Either way, click the "Language Bar" row in this section and the pointer icon for the current input language should appear on the taskbar. If the "Language bar" line is missing in the context menu, then go to the next step.
Step 3
If you are using Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you need to open the control panel - the corresponding line is in the main menu of the system on the "Start" button. In the panel, click the Regional and Language Options row.
Step 4
Click the button labeled "Change keyboard" by going to the "Languages and keyboards" tab of the window that opens. As a result, another window will open - "Languages and text input services".
Step 5
Check the boxes next to "Docked in the taskbar" and "Display text labels in the language bar", and then close all open settings windows by clicking the "OK" button in them.
Step 6
If you are using Windows XP, you also need to start the control panel, the link to which in the main menu is placed in the "Settings" section. On this operating system, in the panel, you must first click the "Date, Time, Regional and Regional Options" line, and then click "Regional and Language Options". On the "Languages" tab of the opened window, press the "Details" button.
Step 7
Click the button labeled Language Bar on the Options tab in the Languages and Text Services window. The "Language bar settings" window will open, where you need to check the boxes "Display the language bar on the desktop" and "Display text labels in the language bar". When you click the "OK" button in this window, a separate panel will appear on the desktop with an indicator of the current input language - you can minimize it to the taskbar. Then close all three open settings windows in sequence.
