Almost all licensed games require the presence of a game disc in the optical drive to run. It is very uncomfortable. Before each launch of the game, you need to look for a game disc, insert it into the drive and wait for it to spin up. Also, over time, the disc gets scratched and it is no longer possible to reinstall the game from it. And considering that the prices for licensed disks are not low, nobody wants to spoil an expensive disk. Fortunately, the problem is solved by mounting disk images.
It is necessary
Computer, licensed game, Daemon Tools program
Instructions
Step 1
To create a virtual disk image, you need an appropriate program. Download Daemon Tools 4.41 or later and install it on your computer.
Step 2
Run the Daemon Tools program from the shortcut on the desktop or in any other way. After the first launch of the program, you will have to wait a few minutes while it scans the system and creates virtual DVD / CD drives. After the system has been scanned and virtual drives have been created, you will be prompted to restart your computer. Restart your PC.
Step 3
Insert the game disc into the drive and run Daemon Tools. In the options, select the medium (CD / DVD) with which the operation of creating a virtual disk will be performed. On the toolbar, select the "create disk image" option. When finished, remove the game disc from the computer's drive. Thus, an exact virtual copy of the game disc will be created.
Step 4
Then go to "My Computer", right-click on the computer drive and select the "Properties" command from the context menu. Next, click on the "hardware" tab, select the computer drive from the list (by default, drive E), go to "properties" and click "disable". Disabling the physical drive is necessary for more reliable operation of the virtual drive. You can turn it on at any moment using the method described above.
Step 5
Now only the virtual drive created by Daemon Tools remains available. In the Daemon Tools menu, select "add file", a list of image files will appear, select the game disc image and right-click. In the context menu that appears, click "mount".
Step 6
Now just start the game. The presence of a game disc in the drive is no longer required. In this way, you can create virtual images of all discs with games, and in the list of image files, you just need to select a virtual image of the game that you want to run.
