When installing a new operating system, you must enable the function of booting the computer from the DVD drive. The difficulty is that after the first stage of installation it is necessary to set the boot parameter from the hard drive.

Instructions

Step 1

First turn on the computer, press and hold the Delete key to enter the motherboard BIOS. Find the Boot or Boot Device menu. Select Boot Device Priority, select DVD drive as the first bootable device. Press the F10 key to save changes and exit the BIOS menu.

Step 2

After the computer restarts, the message Press any key to boot from CD is displayed on the screen. Press any key on your keyboard to launch the Windows installation disc. Begin the process of installing a new operating system.

Step 3

Select the hard disk partition where you want to place the new copy of the operating system. Be sure to format this partition if another OS was previously installed on it. Otherwise, the installation process may not complete correctly. This is especially true for installation on top of Windows Seven.

Step 4

Wait until the first stage of the operating system installation is completed. The computer will restart. Now you need to boot not from the installation disk, but from your hard drive. But it is highly undesirable to enter BIOS and change the boot parameters again. Just wait a while until the Press any key to boot from CD line goes out.

Step 5

The downside is that booting from the hard drive will continue only if the hard drive was specified as the second device in the BIOS menu. To avoid this risk, press and hold the F8 key after the first restart of your computer.

Step 6

After a while, a new menu will open containing a list of devices from which the PC can be started. Select the desired hard drive where you are installing the operating system and press the Enter key. Repeat this procedure after the second restart of the computer.

Step 7

After completing the operating system installation, repeat the procedure to enter the BIOS menu. Install your hard drive as the first device in the download list.
