The original performance of some video adapters is significantly lower than the actual capabilities of these devices. This means that with the right settings, you can significantly improve the performance of your video card.
Necessary
- - Riva Tuner;
- - 3D Marks.
Instructions
Step 1
Remember that damage to the video adapter due to misconfiguration is not covered under warranty. This means that when overclocking a video card, you act at your own peril and risk.
Step 2
Select the program with which you will change the settings of the video adapter. Use Riva Tuner app for secure configuration. Please note that this program is not suitable for use with integrated video cards based on AMD processors.
Step 3
Install Riva Tuner. Reboot your computer. This is necessary for the application to collect information about the active video adapter and gain access to its parameters. Open the main menu of the program.
Step 4
Open the "Driver Settings" menu by clicking the "Configure" button first. Activate the "Driver-level settings" operating mode. This is the most effective and safest method.
Step 5
Select 3D from the available modes. Remember the indicators displayed in the columns "Memory frequency" and "Core frequency". These are the initial parameters of the video card.
Step 6
Change the position of one of the sliders by increasing the selected frequency by 30-40 MHz. Click the Apply button. Make sure the display is free from defects.
Step 7
Install the 3D Marks app. Without determining the stability of the video adapter, it is by no means recommended to optimize this device. Launch 3D Marks and check the quality of your video card.
Step 8
Find the highest possible core / memory frequency using the described algorithm. Set the appropriate value for the other frequency in the same way.
Step 9
Leave the program window open and launch the powerful 3D application. If within 30-40 minutes of operation you did not find any video adapter failures, save the device settings and activate the "Load settings from Windows" item.
