Step 1
Prepare your work surface. Best of all, cover it with a soft, light-colored cloth to avoid damaging the inner parts of the cartridge and not losing small parts. Remove any bolts present from the side covers holding the cartridge halves. As you remove the component parts, unscrew the fasteners that appear in the field of view. Be sure to remove the spring yourself when removing the side covers, as it can be lost and difficult to replace.
Step 2
Remove the drum and other elements that need cleaning from the remains of the cartridge. Wipe them with a special lint-free cloth, if available. You can also use a regular cloth, provided that it does not leave marks after use. Pay particular attention to cleaning the drum. Dispose of any remaining powder in the container. Wipe it first with a slightly damp cloth, then dry. It is best to have a dedicated cartridge cleaning kit with you.
Step 3
Place toner in the cartridge container so that it does not spill onto the surface. Perform all operations with the powder carefully, as it contains toxic substances that are dangerous to health and life. Never refill cartridges near food and be sure to wash your hands at the end of the operation.
Step 4
Close the container, Reassemble the cartridge in reverse order. Be sure to remember where this or that part of it was. Install the springs, secure the sides of the cartridge with the special side covers and screw them tightly with the screws.
Step 5
Shake the cartridge lightly so that the toner settles evenly over the container. Insert it into the printer and do a test print. Occasionally, with some printer models, you need to print several test pages before achieving the desired quality.
