A wide variety of equipment can be connected to a regular computer. Printers and scanners, speakers and projectors, webcams and joysticks, external drives and graphic tablets - all of these devices can significantly expand the capabilities of your computer. In this case, one of the most common devices is a headset, in other words, headphones with a microphone.

Step 1
Find the jacks that plug the headset into. They are usually located on the back of your computer, next to the USB ports. These connectors look like two round holes with a diameter of 3.5 millimeters, and are usually color-coded. The microphone jack is colored pink and the headphone jack is light green. In addition to color coding, there are often schematic images of a microphone and headphones next to the corresponding connectors. Most computers also have additional audio jacks on the front panel, which may be more convenient when connecting a headset.
Step 2
Take a close look at the headset cable. At its end there are connectors that are inserted into the sockets. They are often color-coded similar to the nests. If so, simply plug the connectors into the color-coded connectors. If there are no color differences, look for the headphone and microphone icons on the connectors and insert them according to these icons.
Step 3
If your headset has a USB connection, simply plug it into any available USB port on the front or back of your computer. Usually, no additional configuration is required for a USB headset. Do not forget that it represents a device unrelated to the sound card, and is controlled by separate sliders in the Windows mixer.
