Step 1
Find a picture with the extension *.
Step 2
Click Start, search for “regedit,” and then press Enter. This will open the registry editor. Open the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE> SOFTWARE> Microsoft> Windows> CurrentVersion> Authentication> LogonUI> Background directory in it. This section contains the parameters that govern the welcome screen.
Step 3
The contents of the Background folder will be displayed on the right side of the editor. There may already be an OEMBackground file there, but if not, you need to create one. Right-click on the right side, select New, and then DWORD (32-bit) Value. Name the newly created parameter OEMBackground, open it and give the value "1".
Step 4
Rename the previously found picture to backgroundDefault.jpg. Place it in the C: WindowsSystem32oobeinfoackgrounds directory. If the info and backgrounds folders are missing, they need to be created.
