A freshly installed operating system is usually fast and smooth. But over time, it "grows" with unnecessary files, the speed of work slows down significantly, and various failures appear. How do I restore my computer to normal operation?
Instructions
Step 1
It is very inconvenient, if not impossible, to work on a frozen computer every now and then. To get started, open: "Start - Run", enter the command msconfig and click OK. A window will open, in it select the "Startup" tab and remove the "birds" from the programs you do not need. During installation, many programs register themselves in startup, which increases the computer boot time and reduces its performance. If you don't know the name of a process, just enter it into the search box of Google or another search engine you use, and you will receive all the information you need.
Step 2
Open: "Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Disk Defragmenter". Select the operating system disk and click the Analyze button. If it turns out that the disk needs defragmentation, click the Defragment button. After defragmentation, your computer will run faster.
Step 3
The greatest number of errors during computer operation accumulates in the system registry, so it needs regular cleaning. For this you can use the Ccleaner program designed to clean the system from garbage, or any of the utilities that allow you to work with the system registry. The Ccleaner program will allow you to clean the registry from unnecessary files that occurred during the installation and removal of programs, fix existing errors. In addition, using this program, you can edit the startup list.
Step 4
In many cases, the reason for the computer malfunctioning is its infection with virus or Trojans. Update the anti-virus database and run a full scan of your computer.
Step 5
If the computer refuses to boot at all, try pressing F8 at startup and select the boot of the last good configuration. If your computer still won't boot, choose to boot in safe mode. After booting, you can try to restore your computer to normal operation by remembering exactly what you were doing before it stopped booting. For example, you installed some program or driver - in this case, cancel the installation and try to reboot in normal mode.
Step 6
In the event that you cannot boot even in safe mode, use the Live CD. This is a CD with a stripped down, but still working operating system. You can download it directly from disk, which will give you access to your folders and files. Having saved all important data, you can reinstall the operating system, adjusting the normal operation of the computer.
