When adjusting the parameters of the RAM, you must take into account many nuances. If errors are detected during RAM operation, they can be corrected programmatically.
Instructions
Step 1
Check the health of your RAM and its performance. Open Control Panel and select the "System and Security" menu. Click on the "Windows Memory Checker" shortcut located in the "Administrative Tools" menu. Select "Restart and Check". Wait for the RAM test to complete. If the program detects errors, then first reset the operation parameters of the memory sticks.
Step 2
Open the BIOS menu by restarting your computer. Select Use Default Settings and press Enter. Confirm the application of the factory settings. Restart your computer and check the RAM state again. If the program re-detected errors, repeat the procedure to enter the BIOS menu.
Step 3
Find and open the menu responsible for the parameters of the RAM. Typically, to access this menu, press the Ctrl and F1 keys. First, slightly reduce the frequency of the RAM strips. This will reduce the load on these devices. It is a mistake to assume that this operation will slow down your computer. The presence of errors in the operation of the RAM strips gives a much more powerful slowdown of the system. Save your BIOS menu options and restart your PC. Perform the RAM test again.
Step 4
Return to the settings menu for operating memory parameters. Find the four items that represent the RAM timings. Increase all four indicators by one point. This will cause the memory cards to run slightly slower. If after this error no longer occurs, you will not notice a drop in computer performance.
Step 5
Save the settings and test the RAM strips. Disconnect all RAM strips and check each one separately. Replace the faulty strip if you are unable to fix the problem.
