Modern devices for connecting to the Internet - modems, routers - are configured through the control panel, which is loaded into the browser. To get to it, you can enter the internal IP address in the address bar - it is often called the address of a modem or router, although this is not entirely correct. You can find out this address from the description of a specific device model or by the built-in means of the operating system.

Instructions
Step 1
If your computer is running Windows 7, open the list of network infrastructure devices. This can be done in several ways - for example, through the "Control Panel". Expand the main menu, launch the panel using the item with its name and select "Network and Internet" from the list of sections. On the page that opens for viewing basic information about the network, click the icon that shows the house, but it says that in fact it is "Network". As a result, the "Explorer" window with the required list should open.
Step 2
There are shorter paths to the list of network infrastructure devices. For example, press the Win key, type "set" and in the list of search results click the "Network" link. Or launch "Explorer" using the "hotkeys" Win + E and click on the "Network" icon in the left column.
Step 3
There should be an icon with the image of a modem in the list of the "Network infrastructure" section - open its context menu by right-clicking. In the list of commands, select "Properties", and in the window that opens, go to the "Network device" tab. The last line of the lower section - "Diagnostic information" - of this tab contains the necessary information about the IP-address of the device.
Step 4
If you need the IP address of the modem in order to download the control panel of this device to the browser, use the link on the same tab. It is located in the first section - "Device Information" - next to the inscription "Web Page". However, it is not necessary to open the modem properties window for this - in the context menu of the device in the "Explorer" window, instead of the "Properties" item, you can select the "View device web page" line.
Step 5
There is a universal way to find out the internal IP address of a modem for all versions of Windows released in this century. To use it, open the command line interface - press Win + R, type cmd and click OK. Then enter the ipconfig command and press Enter. The list of information displayed in the terminal will also contain the IP address of the modem, but it will be named differently in different OS versions - for example, “IPv4 address” in the “Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection” section.
