Step 1
If in the case of office documents, such as Word documents and Excel spreadsheets, we can simply archive them, reducing the volume, then this cannot be done with media files. Just like music files, video recordings cannot be compressed using standard office tools.
Step 2
In order to compress a movie to disk size, you should use one of the media converter programs. With the help of converters, you can reduce the file from movies to the size you need - be it CD, DVD5 or DVD9. You can choose from such programs as Zune Converter, Super C, Format Factory, Windows Move Maker or similar.
Step 3
After launching Zune Converter, Super C or Format Factory, you will need to add a file to the program, and then select the options you need in the settings of the final file. In addition to the format, you can also choose the video resolution and sound settings. The programs have a clear interface, and the user will not have any difficulties with the conversion. By setting the desired parameters, you can compress the source file to the size of the disk.
Step 4
If you decide to use Windows Move Maker, open the program and select the Import Videos section. Specify the path to your file and click "OK". The import window will appear. Click "Cancel" and wait for the movie to appear in the main window. If the program has already managed to divide it into several clips, select all of them and drag them to the bottom panel.
Step 5
Now select the menu item "File" - "Save movie file". In the Save Movie Wizard window that opens, select "My Computer", and at the next step, specify the location on your computer where you need to save the movie. In the next window, you will be asked to select the recording quality. Click on "Show advanced options", and enter the desired size of the final file corresponding to the size of the disk. After you click the "Next" button, the conversion process will begin.
