Often there is a need to adjust the size of a video file or cut out some part of it. This is faced not only by video creators, but also by users who are very far from video editing. For example, when a birthday recording does not fit on a disc, or when you only need a snippet from a video. Convenient simple utilities exist especially for such cases.
Instructions
Step 1
Open any browser you like and run a search engine. Request Movavi Video Suite and download a demo version of the program, ideally from the developer's official website. You can also use other utilities such as Virtual Dub Mod or Kate's Video Cutter. Further guidance will focus on the Movavi product. It is very easy to use and has a very friendly interface. The principles of working with other programs of this type are approximately the same.
Step 2
After downloading the installation package of the program, start the installation, accept the license agreement and answer the questions of the installer. It is enough to click "Next" each time - you will successfully install this utility.
Step 3
After installation, click on the "No thanks" button in the lower left corner of the window, which will offer to register on the developer's website. If you have not bought this product, you better refuse and close the window. Also close the browser advertising the Movavi purchase that will open after the installation is complete.
Step 4
Here is the main window of the program. Click the "Video Splitter" button on the first "Video" tab to launch the tool for splitting video files, including *.avi.
Step 5
In the upper right corner of the window, click the "File" button and select the video you want to cut. On the right side, select the division method: by time, by the size of fragments, into a certain number of fragments. By default, the manual control mode is selected, in which you need to mark the beginning and end of the cut fragment.
Step 6
To mark the section of the video that will be cut, click the "Start Marker" button and then the "End Marker" - they look like small triangles under the video window. Then you can select the folder where the video fragment will be saved.
Step 7
When you have selected all the options, click the "Cut" button to start the process. Click the "Continue" button in the reminder window that the program is paid and you are using a trial version. After a few minutes, your video file will be cut as you configured.
