Every day more and more information about the Windows 9 operating system is leaked to the press. At the moment, it is probably known that it is being developed under the code name Threshold.
According to the latest data, the release of Windows 9 is scheduled for April 2015. Marie Joe Foley, a journalist for the ZDNet electronic magazine, told about it from his stokers in the Windows corporation. The beta version of the operating system should be released in the fall of 2014. It will be available to users immediately after the presentation of the second Windows 8.1 update. It is known that in Windows 9 the Start menu should return. It will use live tiles, and will also add the ability to launch Modern applications on the desktop in windowed mode.
PC version
According to journalists, Windows 9 developers will focus on desktop PC users who still work with Windows 7. The creators' efforts are thrown into making it convenient for users accustomed to the old version to switch to computers with a modern operating system. Hence, we should expect a lot of attention to be paid to preserving the classic Windows experience, while at the same time working with touchscreens with a tiled interface will be gleaned from Windows 8.

Windows 9 Mobile will not have a desktop at all, but it will be possible to open windows in parallel in Snap mode. The system is expected to run on tablet processors with Intel Atom processors and smartphones with AMR chips.
There is a possibility that in order to form a positive image of the Windows 9 system, the test version will be available free of charge to users of Windows 7 Service Pack 1, and possibly Windows 8.1 Update.
Special edition for enterprises
