Step 1
Card readers are usually connected to the USB interface on the motherboard. Take the technical documentation for your computer and find where the USB connection interface is on the motherboard. Disconnect power from the computer and remove the cover of the system unit. Examine the system board carefully. According to the diagram of your computer's motherboard, find the USB connection interface on it. If you don't have the motherboard schematic, look for the USB connection interface directly on the motherboard itself. It shouldn't be difficult. It just might take longer.
Step 2
When the USB interface is found, plug in the cord of your card reader. Typically, the card reader is installed in an empty space on the front of the computer case. There is a special compartment for installing additional equipment. To install it there, remove the cover on the front of the computer and insert the card reader into the compartment of the system unit.
Step 3
After installing the equipment, do not rush to close the lid of the system unit. Connect the power to the computer and turn it on. Wait until the operating system is fully loaded. When the operating system is fully loaded, an inscription appears that new hardware has been found, and the drivers are being installed. Wait until the end of this process until the message "The device is successfully connected and ready to work" appears.
Step 4
Now test the correct operation of the card reader. If the connection was successful, it should work fine, but testing the device will still not be superfluous. To do this, simply insert any flash drive into the card reader and copy the information from the computer to it first, then back. If everything works, shut down the computer and attach the system unit cover.
