Modern keyboards have a wide range of additional functions. But sometimes the location of the additional keys is inconvenient, for example, the sleep mode button under the End key. Disabling keys, however, is a configurable aspect, just like other computer settings.
Instructions
Step 1
To disable the sleep mode key, follow the path Control Panel / All Control Panel Items / Power Options. In the power settings window, click on the link "Action of the power buttons". In the "When I press the sleep button" option, select the "No action required" option. In a similar way, you can set the cancellation of the action on the Power button.
Step 2
There are times when the Windows (Win) button gets in the way. Create a new document in a text editor (notepad), enter the following into it: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

Step 3
Click the "File" menu, then select "Save As …", then in the "File Type" line specify "All Files (*. *)". In the line "File name" type: Disable_Win_key.reg, then click "Save". Run the resulting file, select "Yes" in the dialog box.
Step 4
Laptops often have an Fn key. It allows you to adjust the screen backlight, sound volume, and more, depending on the model. You hold down Fn and a key with an additional function. If you do not need this key, disable it. There are several ways. The most obvious one is to read the laptop manual, perhaps there is a section dedicated to your problem. Press Fn and Num Lock at the same time, on many models this combination disables the Fn key. If you have a Toshiba laptop, use the HDD Protector utility. In the Optimization tab, select Accessibility, uncheck the Use Fn key option. In the BIOS settings, the Active Key Mode tab is responsible for disabling it. To disable, set the value to Disabled. Remember to save your changes.
Step 5
If you have a multimedia keyboard, use the software that came with it. Such programs have an intuitive interface, settings are quick and easy. If you do not have software for working with a multimedia keyboard, download the free Media Key program from the developer's official website, then install it on your computer. Launch MKey, go to the "Keys" tab to configure keys and key combinations for multimedia and ordinary keyboards.
