Like any household item, computer monitors get dirty over time. But if furniture covered with dust simply makes an unpleasant impression, then a layer of dirt accumulated on the monitor screen noticeably interferes with work, causing additional eye strain. Therefore, it is so important to monitor the condition of the display and clean it in a timely manner. However, some difficulties may arise in this case, since you cannot wash the monitor like a regular piece of furniture.

Instructions

Step 1

Modern liquid crystal monitors, like other sophisticated equipment, are very sensitive to external influences. Therefore, they should not be cleaned with ordinary detergents, do not rub the screen with wet or dry rags so as not to damage its coating. For cleaning LCD monitors, it is preferable to use specially designed wipes and sprays for this purpose.

Step 2

The hardest part of cleaning your monitor is cleaning the screen. The back of the monitor, stand and side frames made of plastic can be wiped gently with a damp cloth. It is only necessary to disconnect the power supply first.

Step 3

The LCD screen, on the other hand, must be treated with great care, as it is very easy to scratch even with an ordinary cloth. There are two main ways to clean your display: dry and wet. With the dry method, accumulated dust from the display can be removed either contactlessly using a rubber bulb or blower. Or with a soft brush that gently brushes away dust accumulations.

Step 4

However, dry cleaning is only suitable when the screen itself is clean enough and only slightly dusty. If there are any stains of grease or dried liquids on it, more serious cleaning will be required. In this case, wet wipes and cleaning sprays are needed.

Step 5

If you don't have a dedicated LCD wipe on hand, you can use any soft cloth such as flannel or eyeglass wipes. As a wetting liquid, you can use ordinary soft water that does not contain impurities. Under no circumstances should alcohol solutions or household chemical cleaners be used to wipe the display.

Step 6

The monitor screen is cleaned with gentle movements from top to bottom, without any use of force. It is important to remember that no liquid should be sprayed directly onto the screen, even if it is a special cleaning spray. You need to moisten a napkin and already clean the monitor with it. As a final step after wet cleaning, you can use a dry paper towel to remove any streaks.
