From time to time, new components have to be installed in the computer. The reason may be different - replacing broken or obsolete parts, or adding devices that were not installed during the assembly of the model. And if the user performs such an operation for the first time, it can be quite difficult for him. Everything seems incomprehensible, and what, where to put, and what, to what to fasten. In fact, it is enough to be attentive and accurate.

Instructions
Step 1
Open both side housing covers. If you are changing a drive, remove the old one first. Disconnect the power cable and data cable from it to the motherboard. Then unscrew the retaining screws and slide the drive forward. If it is installed behind a non-removable chassis bezel, it will have to be pulled back and, depending on the model, it may be necessary to remove the power supply and even the motherboard if they get in the way. But this happens quite rarely.
Step 2
If you are installing a new drive, remove the front cover where it will be located. Check that there is no second metal plug inside the compartment. If there is, carefully remove it.
Step 3
Install the drive into the bay by sliding it from the front until the front of the drive is flush with the bezel of the chassis. Secure it with the fixing screws.
Step 4
Connect the power cable and data cable. The slots for them are provided with keys that allow them to be inserted in a single position. Close the housing covers.
