Minecraft is a game that allows, among other things, to travel between the three worlds existing in it. Unfortunately, portals to the Upper World (Edge) cannot be created, but anyone can go to the Lower World to meet with monsters by building a very simple portal.

Instructions

Step 1

Portals to the Nether can be built by players from obsidian; in their natural form, portals are not found either in the standard dimension or in the Nether.

Step 2

The latest versions of the game allow you to build portals with a side of up to 23 blocks, while the portal frame cannot be less than 4 by 5 blocks.

Step 3

Corner blocks during construction can be of any material or be absent altogether, so if you have little obsidian, you only need ten blocks to build a simple functioning portal.

Step 4

The first step is to build the physical frame of the portal, after that you need to set fire to any lower block of the frame with a flint. This will activate the portal. Instead of a flint, you can use a fireball. Creating a portal does not always require a diamond pickaxe; if you wish, you can use the method of generating obsidian using water and lava and cast the portal in layers.

Step 5

The inner part of the frame after activation will be occupied by the portal field, it has a nice vortex animation. To go through the portal, you need to wait a few seconds after entering the field.

Step 6

The portal can be destroyed - if at least one block of obsidian is broken, the portal turns off, and it will have to be restarted. In addition, the portal will turn off if a creeper or dynamite block explodes nearby. A ghast fireball hit will also deactivate the portal.

Step 7

Portals are not linked to transport networks. Their interaction is calculated as follows - when passing through the portal, Minecraft looks for the nearest portal in the lower world in the area 257X257X128 centered on the destination.

Step 8

If such a portal is not found, the game creates a new one, determining the most suitable position for it in the area 33X33X128. Sometimes, if a suitable place is not found, the game creates a portal with additional steps, inscribing it into the terrain or providing the player with the opportunity to exit the portal, for example, over a lake of lava and not fall into it.
