During operation, the operating system takes up more and more space, especially Windows. And if you additionally install several programs, then the hard disk space becomes even less, so you constantly have to delete something to install fresh software. The less free disk space, the lower the system performance.

Instructions

Step 1

One of the most effective ways is to redistribute free space using special partition managers, but you can often use simpler utilities. For example, after purchasing a new hard disk or if you have one free logical partition, you can move all the programs you need there. This will free up the system drive and give the system more free space. To do this, you can use the Steam Mover program.

Step 2

Download the distribution kit of the application. Initially, the program was developed to move installed Steam games, but now the utility can cope with many other tasks. It is important to note that for the program to work correctly, Windows Vista or Windows Seven must be installed on the computer, and all disks must be formatted in NTFS.

Step 3

The program does not require installation; to run it, open the executable file contained in the archive. You will see a window that is divided into two parts. On the left, select the source folder where the roaming application is located, and on the right side of the window, select a new location for your utility.

Step 4

After that, select all the items in the list and click the right arrow in the lower left corner of the program. Then you will see a command window, after closing which the required utility will be completely moved to a new folder. Links will be created in the old place, so all applications will be launched as before.

Step 5

If you want to return the utility to its old place, then press the left arrow button, and the program will be moved back.
