Warcraft 3 game WorldEditor
Instructions
Step 1
Perform all actions to create or modify a map using the WorldEditor program. It is on the game disc. To create a full-fledged map, you need a team in which each person will be responsible for a separate part of the process:
1) Trigger - practically the main developer, deals with the basic developments and the engine.
2) Scriptwriter - deals with the writing of the map script, the main game moments.
3) Relief designer (decorator) - deals with the creation of relief and placement of game objects.
4) Tester and balancer - finds and fixes bugs and buggies. Admitted when creating a map.
The card can be made alone, but it will take a lot of time and can negatively affect its quality.
Step 2
Start the actual map creation by designing the world and environment. Give the name of the area in which the scenario will develop. Determine the terrain (hills, plains or mountains), add some rivers. After designing all the objects, come up with names for them. When designing the landscape, use a variety of textures, this will significantly "liven up" the map. For example, you can diversify a grass field with Ashenval textures. Design roads wide enough, but not full screen. Fence the edges of the abyss, add cobblestones, rocks for the highlands. When creating a populated area, be sure to fill it with buildings. Set up monuments, groves of public gardens. It is advisable to put the name of the one in whose honor it was installed on the monument.
Step 3
Complete the map with monsters and characters. When designing monsters, try to arrange the type of monster according to the type of terrain (for mountains, for example, kobolds are most suitable). Create the main classes: warrior, mage, swordsman, druid, etc. Make the hero's level higher, for example, 100. Adjust the spells to the level. Make spells as original as possible. Add tasks. The more, the more interesting the map will be, but you shouldn't oversaturate it either.
Step 4
Add DIY items to the game. Never leave standard items, this will reduce the fun of the gameplay. This is one of the basic requirements for creating an interesting map. Divide items into classes (helmet, shield, weapon, armor, quest), set the necessary requirements for use for the best items. After creating a map, be sure to test it, this will allow you to identify various map bugs and detect small inaccuracies.
