Step 1
To use the video card you need, restart the laptop and enter the BIOS menu. Find in it the item responsible for the state of the video adapters. Select the one you want to disable and select the Disable option. Set to Enable to enable this equipment.
Step 2
If you need to make both video cards active, then select the Enable item for both devices. Return to the main BIOS menu and select Save & Exit. Press the Enter key.
Step 3
Remember that two video cards cannot work at the same time. Those. both of them can be active, but only one video adapter is running at a time. Open the properties of the My Computer menu and go to Device Manager. Make sure both video cards are turned on.
Step 4
Now install the AMD Catalyst Control Center if your laptop has an AMD processor. Restart your laptop and run the installed application. Adjust the settings for the video adapters. If necessary, activate automatic device switching when power is disconnected / connected.
Step 5
If the laptop has an Intel processor installed, install the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator program. Restart your laptop and run this utility. Configure the interoperability settings for the integrated and discrete graphics cards. Pay attention to the fact that the built-in video card will always be active initially. Set the list of programs on your own that will activate the discrete video adapter when launched.
Step 6
Do not disable one of the video adapters unless absolutely necessary. Try to use a discrete graphics card only in cases where the power of the integrated adapter is not enough.
