The Word text editor is convenient in that it allows you to insert into the document not only formulas and tables, but also pictures-illustrations. You can use copyright images and files from the MS Office collection.
How to insert image from MS Office collection
Mark with the mouse in the document the place where the picture should be placed. If you are using Word 2003, in the "Insert" menu, point to the "Picture" section and select "Picture" from the drop-down list. In the "Search" line, enter the name of the theme for which you want to find an illustration, for example, "Nature", "Car", "Travel", etc.
Expand the Browse list and check the boxes for Microsoft Collections and Web Collections. In the "Search for objects" list, indicate which files you are interested in: pictures (drawn objects), photos, films, sounds. You will be offered a choice of files on a given topic. Click on the image you like.
If you have a later version of Word installed, go to the "Insert" tab and in the "Illustrations" group click on the "Picture" icon. The procedure for finding the desired file is practically the same as that developed for Word 2003.
After inserting, you can resize the picture. To do this, hold down the resizing handles on the sides or corners of the picture with the mouse and move them to the center or from the center of the image.
How to insert an author's image
To insert a file from your media, in the "Pictures" section, check the "From file" item and specify the path to the folder in which the image is located. To make it easier to find the desired file, open the "Views" list on the toolbar and check the "Sketches" item. You can do otherwise: in one window, open the Word file, in the other - the folder with the desired image, and drag the picture with the mouse.
