Wallpaper in Windows operating systems is the desktop background. As wallpaper, the user can choose any image that matches the screen resolution of the monitor, or create a slideshow of several such pictures.
Instructions
Step 1
Close or minimize all running programs and folders in Windows 7. To quickly minimize all folders and applications, click the "Minimize all windows" button located at the bottom right of the taskbar.

Click once with the right mouse button on an empty place of applications, shortcuts, files and folders on the desktop.
Step 3
In the list that appears, click once with the left mouse button on the "Personalization" line. A window with personalized settings for the picture and sound parameters of the computer will open.
Step 4
In the window that opens, click on the line "Desktop background" located at the bottom. You will go to the area for selecting and setting the desktop wallpaper. Here you can see the preview area of images and the main configurable parameters of the installed wallpaper.
Step 5
Select an image from those presented in the Windows 7 operating system or add your own. To do this, click the "Browse …" button located in the upper part of the window, specify the path to the location of the desired image file and click the "Ok" button. Sample images from the selected folder appear in the preview area.
Step 6
If the image does not fit the size or resolution of the monitor screen, then the user can change its position on the desktop by selecting the desired one in the "Image position" list. Also, if the size of the picture and the screen does not match, the user can change the image file by cropping it to fit the required dimensions.
Step 7
Having selected several images as the desktop background, the user automatically creates a slideshow from them. In this case, you can change the time interval for showing each of the backgrounds. The interval is set from the "Change image every …" list. Also, for the slideshow function, it is possible to turn on the display of images in random order. In professional licensed versions of the Windows 7 operating system, the user can also change the transition effects from one slideshow image to another by selecting them from the "Transition Effect" list.
Step 8
After choosing the image you like, click the "Save Changes" button. The desktop background will change without rebooting the system.
