The Mozilla Firefox browser log contains information about the sites visited by the user. The magazine can be convenient to use when you need to quickly open a recently closed page or find out a list of resources that were viewed by the user for a certain period of time. With appropriate settings, site addresses are added to the log automatically, but you can delete files from it “manually”.
Instructions
Step 1
For starters, if you do not want your browser to remember which resources you viewed, disable this feature in the settings. To do this, in the top menu bar, call the "Settings" item from the "Tools" section. In the window that opens, go to the "Privacy" tab. Using the drop-down list in the "History" section, set the value "Will not remember history". Click OK to close the window.
Step 2
To erase the history of visited sites for several hours or for a day, in the top menu bar, select the "Tools" section and the "Erase recent history" command. In the window that appears, find the required period of time and click the "Erase now" button. Confirm your choice.
Step 3
To remove files from the log, open the Log window. On the top menu bar, select the "History" section and the "Show entire history" command. If you cannot find the menu on the panel, click on the panel once with the right mouse button, in the drop-down menu, set the marker opposite the line "Menu Panel".
Step 4
In the Journal window that opens, expand the list of visited sites for the period of time you need. Find and select the file you want to erase in the proposed list, right-click on it, select the “Delete” command from the drop-down menu. If you want to remove all references to a resource, and not just a link to a specific page, select the "Forget about this site" command from the drop-down menu.
Step 5
To delete history for a day, week or month, select the appropriate section and right-click on it. In the drop-down menu, as in the previous step, select the "Delete" command or press the Delete key. The "Select All" and "Delete" commands are also available in the top menu bar of the Journal window.
Step 6
The principle of deleting files from other logs, be it the system event log or the antivirus installed on your computer, is similar to the principle described above. Select the required file and give the “Delete” command using the drop-down menu, the top menu bar or the Delete key.
