If you have one personal computer designed for several users, and you do not want to allow others to access your files, then you should create a personal account that will be password protected. And it can be configured the way you want, regardless of another account. This is all done by creating a Windows service.

Instructions

Step 1

Click Start - Control Panel - User Accounts. In the window that appears, click on "Create an account". Next, enter the account name. Then select the type of account: Computer Administrator or Restricted Account. Typically, when creating a second account, choose the "restricted account" type if you do not want to give full control of the operating system to another user. Then just click "Create Account". You will have to wait a while for the operation to complete.

Step 2

If you want to put a password on your account, then go to "Start" - "Control Panel" - "User Accounts", there click "Change Account". Next, select the account that you would like to change, in our case, put it under a password. Click "Create Password" and enter your password, then repeat it. In the third field, you need to write a phrase or a word that will serve as a kind of "reminder" in case you forget your password.

Step 3

It is also worth noting that the password reminder will be visible to all users, so try to enter it in such a way that they know the answer, and in general, only you can guess. This can be, for example, a favorite team in a sport, an animal, someone's name, a pet's nickname, a date. Passwords that are too simple should not be entered, as people might guess. Now just click on "Create Password".

Step 4

All is ready. Now your account on a personal computer is reliably password protected, and you can not be afraid that someone will enter it and change something or use your personal data, some files and other information.
