It is customary to refer to a hyperlink to an element of a text or graphic image that has special properties. A hyperlink is intended to go to the desired place in a document, local or network, or to perform a specific action, for example, launch a selected program.
A hyperlink can be either a fragment of an HTML document associated with a specific file located on the Internet, or indicating the path (URL) to this file, or text in an email message or on a web resource, and in some cases, an image that provides the possibility of transition and providing a connection with the selected object.
A hyperlink can point to elements of the same site or link pages from different web resources. In the first case, the relative page address (page.html) is used, in the second, the absolute one (https://site.com/page.html). It is also possible to use a hyperlink within the same Internet page, for example, to create an opportunity to quickly jump to the top of the page. Mail hyperlink allows you to display the email address of the selected user and create a mail message with one click.
The syntax for a hyperlink looks like:
Hyperlink (address; name), where address is the path and file name for the selected document, and name is the link text or, in the case of Excel, the numeric value of the selected cell.
Creating a hyperlink in Word can be done in several ways:
- enter the desired address of the web resource and press the function key Enter;
- select the required piece of text and call its context menu by clicking the right mouse button. Specify the "Hyperlink" command in the drop-down list of options and select the required parameters in the dialog box that opens. Click OK to apply the selected changes.
Select the hyperlink and call its context menu by right-clicking to perform the operation of deleting the selected element. Specify the "Delete hyperlink" command in the drop-down menu. This action will override the special properties of the text, but retain the text value itself.
