Often many users ask the question of how to install Windows XP if Vista is already installed? The thing is that the system does not allow you to go back to an older version and install it programmatically. This can be done by booting the computer in a certain way.

Step 1
Check the system requirements, hardware and software compatibility, determine the partitioning parameters, select the appropriate file system for the new system: FAT, FAT32, NTFS. Careful planning can make your Windows installation more efficient, helping to avoid potential problems. Once you've made sure you've selected everything you need, you can begin the installation process.
Step 2
Remove the old system and install the new one in the following way: boot from an MS-DOS floppy disk, go to the command line, create a new disk partition with the FDISK command, reboot, format the created partition, and then proceed to install the system from disk.
Step 3
Start booting Windows XP from the CD. You can press F6 if you need to install additional SCSI adapters or other storage devices. If you are prompted to provide driver media, make sure you have it handy. The installer will start downloading all required files and drivers.
Step 4
Select the partition to install Windows XP. Press Enter. Read the license agreement and press F8 if you accept it. Select or create a partition where you will install Windows XP.

Run the installation and wait until all necessary files are copied from the installation point (CD, or network share). Then the computer will be restarted and the installation will continue in graphical mode.
Step 6
Click the Change Regional Settings button, if necessary. Specify the system language, this affects how the date, time, currency and numbers will be displayed. Select your current keyboard layout.
Step 7
Enter the computer name and password for the administrator account. Install and configure network components. Next, you will be prompted to register your copy and authorize it. Installation completed!
