If Kaspersky Anti-Virus is installed on a personal computer and at the same time it is not activated, there will be little benefit from its work. This is due to the fact that unregistered versions of the program do not update their anti-virus databases, which makes them powerless against newly emerging viruses. Therefore, after installing Kaspersky, you need to obtain a license key.
Instructions
Step 1
There are many versions of the program, but the registration process is much the same for them.
Open the program window by double-clicking on its tray icon. If there is no tray icon, the program may not be running. Start the program, to do this, open the "Start" menu, in the "Programs" section, select the "Kaspersky Anti-Virus" item.
Step 2
In the window that opens, go to the "License" tab.
Perhaps the program was previously activated, but then stopped updating. This can happen due to the blacklisting of the activation key. In this case, you need to delete the old key. Follow the "Merge / Remove" link and click on the "Remove key" item.
Step 3
If the application is not activated, it will immediately report this and request an activation key. Select "Activate the application" and follow the link "Activate with a key". Click the "Browse …" button and navigate to the location where the new key is stored, then click the "Open" button.
Step 4
After the key is loaded, the program will check it for suitability - whether it is suitable for this version of the program, whether it has expired, etc., if everything is in order, then you can click the "Activate" button. Then you can find out when the key expires and a new activation is required.
