Instructions
Step 1
Test for the existence of a prescribed route. To do this, contact a neighboring network. In the event that the route to its key servers is not registered, an informational message will be displayed with a text like: "A redirect was received to a hub to which a connection has already been made."
Step 2
Define gateway - this is the gateway through which the connection is made. It can be specified in the information that the provider provides when connecting in the form of user memos. These papers must contain the name of the IP address, mask and the desired gateway.
Step 3
If it is absent in the information provided by the provider, it can be determined using the following method. Find the icon on the desktop or in the "Start" menu called "Network Connection", right-click on it and select "Properties" from the drop-down list.
Otherwise, go to the "Start" menu, go to the "Control Panel" subsection, the "Network Connections" subsection, or the "Start" menu, the "Control Panel" section, the "Network and Internet Connection" subsection.
Step 4
After getting any of the described paths to the "Network Connections" subsection, you need to find the current connection. Its icon will be marked with a green icon and the caption "Connected". It is necessary to right-click on it and select the "State" item in the context menu. The window that opens will contain the "Support" tab, and in it - the "Default gateway" item. An address like "10.14.0.1" will be listed next to it in the text box. This address will be the desired gateway address.
Step 5
Open the command line using the "Start" menu, the "All Programs" section, the "Accessories" subsection and the "Command Line" item - to do this, click the specified item. It can also be opened using the "Start" menu. Select the "Run" item in it, type cmd in the text box and press Enter. In the opened black command line window, enter the route_p_ADD_81.10.0.0_MASK_255.0.0.0_10.14.0.1 command, and the last six digits will be indicated according to the gateway address, and press Enter. The hub will be successfully registered. If the data was entered incorrectly, the command line will display a warning message about this. Close the Command Prompt window by typing exit and pressing Enter.
