Instructions

Step 1

Windows Media Player is a standard player that is installed by default with your version of Windows. Initially, it plays a basic set of audio and video file formats. In order to expand the list of extensions available for the program to work correctly, you need to install codecs.

Step 2

To play music in this player, you should select the required audio file (several files), which, as a rule, is in mp3 format. You can then right-click and select "Open with / Windows Media Player" from the context menu that appears. The program will automatically run and play the selected file (s) or even an entire directory.

Step 3

Media Player Classic is very similar to the previous program, which, in principle, differs only in its visual form. You can use the same methods to open files in this player. In addition, in the window of the program itself, you can open the "File" tab, in which you can select the context menu item "Open File …" or "Open folder" (Open Directory). In the search engine window that appears, select the required files (directories) that you want to play.

Step 4

Winamp is perhaps the most widely used media player. It is automatically updated via the Internet and offers the user a large selection of plugins, visualization forms and a list of playable formats. To play sound files, you can use the right mouse button to open the context menu, in which you need to select the "Play in Winamp" tab. You can also use the Add button in the program itself. After clicking it, you need to select in the Add URL window that appears - the Internet address of the resource from which you want to play this or that sound file, or Add DIR - select a folder located on your computer's hard drive or removable media connected to your PC.

Step 5

The last of the reviewed players is AIMP. It is similar to Winamp in many ways, both in the features available and in the form of rendering. The only difference from its brother is that instead of buttons Add and Rem (delete) you have "+" and "-", the meaning of which is to add and remove files from playlists.
