When the computer starts to slow down - whether it is right after the system boots, or after some time has passed, this sometimes happens due to the fact that there are too many programs running in the system tray that did not seem to be launched manually, but still in the tray " hang. " The task is to clear the tray of unnecessary applications.

Instructions

Step 1

Don't think that programs just got to the tray. If you see their icons in the tray, but after starting the system you did not start them manually, then this means that their launch is registered in the startup parameters. Each time after starting the system, you can click on the icon of each individual program and terminate it manually, or you can configure autorun once and forget about the problem of excessive consumption of system resources by third-party applications.

Step 2

Go to the "Start" menu and select "Run". You can also use the key combination Win + R for this.

Step 3

Write the command “msconfig” in the opened window and press the Enter button. A window for editing system settings will open in front of you, mainly in one way or another related to system loading.

Step 4

Go to the Startup tab. Pay attention to the "Startup" column - it contains a complete list of all programs and services that start at startup. If the checkbox is set in front of one or another item, then this means that this program is launched automatically when the system boots.

Step 5

Determine which programs you do not need in the startup list and uncheck the corresponding checkboxes.

If there are too many items, then use the "Enable all" or "Disable all" buttons.

Step 6

Click on the "OK" button after editing the startup list. Next, you will see a warning that the settings will take effect only after a reboot. Here you decide for yourself - in principle, you can close the window and continue working further, and after the next turn on the computer everything will be as it should.
