Sometimes your photos can be clouded by boring or distracting backgrounds. But using the magic of Adobe Photoshop, you can very easily replace this background with another - interesting, intriguing, bright, whatever you want, and put yourself in the background. To do this, you must prepare two images: your photo and a photo with a new background. Then you will have to mount them.
Necessary
Tools: Adobe Photoshop 7 or higher
Instructions
Step 1
Open your photo in Adobe Photoshop (Ctrl + O).
Step 2
Take the Lasso tool and trace the silhouette with it, not thinking about precision at this stage. After the silhouette is selected, copy it (in the "Edit" menu, click "Copy"). Then close the image - you won't need it anymore.
Step 3
Open the file with the new background. From the Edit menu, click Paste (Ctrl + V). The fragment that was on the clipboard will be superimposed on top of the background in a new layer.
Step 4
Delete all unnecessary things. This is the most crucial moment on which the final result will depend, so try to work as accurately as possible. If you are a beginner and do not have a lot of experience with graphic editors, the easiest way to remove unnecessary things from a photo is the Eraser tool. Take it from the tool palette, adjust the size and softness of the brush, and begin to gently remove the remnants of the old background. To work more conveniently, you should enlarge the photo using the Zoom tool.
Step 5
The most difficult part is traditionally the hair. They should be given more attention. When you are cutting hair, it makes sense to enlarge the photo a lot, and use a thin semi-rigid brush for work. If the strands of hair are too difficult to cut, some of them can be removed.
Step 6
When the silhouette is ready, move it to the desired position. To do this, use the Move tool.
Step 7
Finally, the background and silhouette should be matched in quality, brightness, contrast and tone. If you've inserted an amateur photo onto a professionally shot background, try to make that background “non-professional”. Blur it a little using the Gaussian Blur filter, darken it, or, conversely, make it lighter. Also try lowering the contrast and brightness a little. To access all of these settings, go to the Image menu and then Adjustments.
Step 8
Save the finished result. From the File menu, choose Save As or Save For Web.
