Drivers are required for the operating system to recognize and use a particular hardware. If you have problems with the installed software, and you receive a message that the driver is blocked, you may be able to use one of the described options for removing it.
Instructions
Step 1
A certain part of the drivers can be removed using the Add / Remove Programs component. To invoke it, press the Windows key or the "Start" button. Select "Control Panel" from the menu and left-click on the "Add or Remove Programs" icon.
Step 2
Wait until the complete list is formed, select the driver you no longer need, click on the "Remove" button located opposite its name, and wait for the operation to complete. Unfortunately, only a limited number of drivers can be found in the list. If it does not contain the one you are looking for, try uninstalling it through the "System" component.
Step 3
To open the "System" component, right-click on the "My Computer" icon on the desktop or in the "Start" menu and select the last item from the drop-down list - "Properties". Alternatively, open Control Panel and select the System icon under the Performance and Maintenance category.
Step 4
In the "System Properties" window that opens, go to the "Hardware" tab and click the "Device Manager" button in the group of the same name. An additional window will display a list of equipment installed on the computer.
Step 5
Select the hardware whose driver you want to remove by double-clicking on the desired item with the left mouse button. When the properties window of the selected device opens, make the "Driver" tab active and click on the "Remove" button.
Step 6
If the driver cannot be removed using the described methods, try another option. Save the driver installation file (the same or later version) on your computer. When you run this file, it will scan the system and remove the existing driver by itself. In certain cases, special utilities developed for a specific driver, or programs designed to work with drivers, such as Driver Genius, can help.
