Due to conflicts of some programs, hardware drivers sometimes stop working correctly. In order to properly install a new, working driver, it is imperative to remove the old driver.
Instructions
Step 1
Most often, you have to remove non-working drivers for the following devices: network card, sound card, video adapter, printer, etc. In order to remove an old driver, first of all, you should make sure that you have the latest version of the new driver for the hardware you need. If you downloaded the current driver version you need from the official website of the equipment manufacturer, you can proceed to uninstall the old driver.
Step 2
Almost all actions in the family of Windows operating systems are duplicated, and there are several ways to achieve the desired result. Let's consider one of them.
Right-click on the My Computer icon and select Properties. In the window that opens, select the "Hardware" tab and go to "Device Manager". Here is a list of all the devices running on your computer. If for some reason you could not get to the "Device Manager" in this way, you can do otherwise. Go to the "Start" menu, go to the "Control Panel", selecting the section with the equipment you need.
Step 3
Now, having selected the device whose driver needs to be replaced, right-click on it, in the window that opens, go to the "Properties" tab, and click on the "Remove" button. The system will ask you to make sure that you really intend to remove the driver, you need to answer in the affirmative. After a while, the driver will be removed and the system will notify you about it.
Step 4
After the required driver is removed and the computer is restarted, from the "Device Manager", in the "Hardware" section, you can install a new driver.
